This is amazing, thanks for sharing! I have a few former non-Chinese (really I mean white) coworkers who can speak Chinese fluently too, and I am always super happy to speak / practice Mandarin with them. I try not to be patronizing, but personally I genuinely appreciate the effort to study our culture. In China we are required to take English lessons starting at age of 9, and I spent years learning English! I am still learning, lol
