More On Wang Xifeng’s Frustration
It’s pretty easy to read Dream of the Red Chamber and conclude that Wang Xifeng is actually an awful person. The truth, however, is far more complex.
We’re still in the early chapters of Dream of the Red Chamber, and the truth is that most of the focus of the novel has been on establishing the complex character that is Wang Xifeng. In fact, if you look through the archive of translation posts on this blog, you’ll notice that Wang Xifeng’s name comes up in the titles more frequently than any other character.
