Poor Yinglian
I’m going to drive all of you nuts again by continuing to cut this story up. There are a lot of interesting literary things happening here that you might not see at first. Jia Yucun’s reaction to the story of Feng Yuan’s death and Zhen Yinglian’s fate is quite telling. And, once again, we see that genuine and likable characters in this book get the short end of the stick, while the hypocrites seem to make off with everything.
