What Was That All About?
Yesterday’s passage probably seemed a little bit strange.
Not much happens. Jia Baoyu needs to get from watching the plays at the Ningguo Mansion over to the Pear Fragrance Court to talk with Xue Baochai.
However, he winds up making a pretty complex detour, one that involves him running into a bunch of random people who barely make any other appearance in the book and really aren’t all that interesting or important.
So what’s going on here?
