With this, we’ve finally come to the end of the 12 predictive poems in chapter 5. However, more poetry awaits us. As I wrote before, chapter 5 really is the litmus test of Dream of the Red Chamber. If you can get through this, the rest of the book is easy.
We’ll keep the identity of this character mysterious for the time being.
