Why Jia Baoyu Didn’t Say Goodbye To Xue Baochai
This part from yesterday’s post was kind of unusual:
黛玉忙又叫住，問道：「你怎麼不去辭你寶姐姐來呢？」寶玉笑而不答，一徑同秦鐘上學去了。
“Aren’t you going to say goodbye to Xue Baochai as well?” asked Daiyu as he was departing.
Baoyu merely smiled without answering and went straight to school with Qin Zhong.
Why would Jia Baoyu not say goodbye to Xue Baochai? He clearly likes her; we saw that back in chapter 8. Why is his relationship different with her than it is with Lin Daiyu?
