Chapter 1

This is a collection of all translation posts for chapter 1. I’ve included them in chronological order for your convenience.

Don’t feel bad if parts of Chapter 1 feel difficult to you, or if you’re turned off by the psychological depth of the text. The first chapter is actually one of the most difficult chapters of the book, and contains a lot of foreshadowing that might only make sense once you’ve read the entire book. Later chapters tend to have more story and less abstraction — though there will still be interesting little details that we’ll need to point out.
